Homeschooling: What our days look like

I haven't written about our homeschool in awhile so I thought I'd update you on how it's going. Anna is currently in the 5th grade, Libby 3rd, Sophia 1st, and Christopher and Emma pre-school.
Here is what our day usually looks like:
-We wake up, eat breakfast, get ready for the day and do morning chores.
-Music practice (Anna violin and piano and Libby and Sophia piano).
-Then we read a chapter or two of a great literary novel for children. Sometimes it is the biography of a missionary or books on other topics of interest. Right now we are reading the original Swiss Family Robinson.
-Next, Classical Conversations memory work and lessons: History, Bible, Geography, Science, Math, Latin and English.
-Playtime and lunch
-Nap for younger 3 children, Math for older 3
-Quiet reading (books from Sonlight curriculum, Vision Forum or Rod and Staff publishing mostly) and then there is time for hobbies like knitting, crocheting, gardening, writing stories, etc. Quiet activities while the little ones sleep.
-Littles wake up and they all play together and/or watch an educational video while mommy makes dinner.
-Sometimes I'll give a spelling test or practice ABC's, shapes and numbers with Christopher and Emma if dinner is in the oven or crockpot and daddy still isn't home yet.
-Dinner with Daddy. Discuss the day. Clean up. Have fun with Daddy.
-Worship our Lord as a family, catechism (theology for children through questions and answers based on the bible), pray together and then...
-Bed

Variations: on Wednesdays, we attend a homeschool enrichment class for 1/2 a day and Anna has violin lessons. The piano teacher comes to our house on Mondays. Saturday is family/work day and Sundays worship of our Lord with the church. Chad has also begun preaching at a nursing home with a group from church and he brings our older children with him and I stay home with Littles as they finish their naps.

Sometimes we go on fun field trips and other times we explore in our big backyard. We try to make learning a lifestyle and not only during certain hours of the day or certain days of the week. Being a large family though, routine and schedules are a must to maintain order :). The Bible is paramount to us as well as seeking to be "doers of the word and not merely hearers". We are having a lot of fun and truly enjoying the life the Lord has blessed us with.
So sorry that the pictures on my posts lately are neither in order nor do they have captions! I write my blog posts via an app now and so I don't have as much control over how my posts look. All I can do is write something and add pictures below. Hope this isn't too confusing.
Being a military family and moving so often, this blog really helps me (Sandi) feel connected to those we love and miss and helps us continue to make new friends over the internet :). May the Lord be glorified in our every endeavor!
Pictures below are of our school logo and activities, field trips and crafts as well as lessons and hobbies.
