Getting ready to go on a bike ride with Daddy
He's so excited!
"Can we go now Daddy?"
...off we go, bye Mom!
Christopher loves daily bike rides with Daddy! That's right--daily. We started off only on Saturday mornings but now it is a daily activity. Heat and all, it doesn't matter. Father and son bonding time, fresh air, sunshine, even in light rain : ) Sometimes Chad has to wake Christopher up because it relaxes him so much he begins to fall asleep. The way he lets us know he is ready to go on a bike ride is to go get his shoes or point to the door and pats his head (for helmet)...he asks so nicely that we usually don't say "no" : ) Plus, it's good exercise for Chad as he has to stay in shape for the Air Force.
We're so excited to hear Christopher learning new words as well. When we first got him he only said "Dada" and everything else was "up". Now he calls me "Mama", says "Eeee-a" for Sophia, "Nana" for Anna, "bebe" for Emma because she's a baby, "Yoyut" for yogurt (his favorite food), "et" for eat... He also does the sign for "more" and "all done" which I'm sure parents that use sign language can attest to how much nicer it makes meal time. :) Those are the ones I can think of off of the top of my head. He also makes different sounds that let us know what he wants for example he can't say "piggies" yet but he'll grab his toes and say the 'p' sound and kind of chant to the cadence of the 5 little piggies when he wants me to play that with him. He is starting to pretend to read books and he in general is getting more verbal. Christopher's at that great age too where he is so absorbent of new information. I can tell he understands much more than he can say. For example, when I ask him where his nose is, he'll point to his nose or when I talk about needing to get the comb to comb his hair, he'll pat his hair.
Every day with Christopher just keeps getting better and better. I love when he says Mama and puts his arms up for me to hold him. Chad loves rocking him to sleep at night in his arms before bed. I love watching him with Emma. When he notices her, he'll put his thumb in his mouth and lay his head down on her lap and let her pat his head and grab his hair....it's so sweet! He doesn't do that with anyone but her. Libby makes Christopher laugh! He gets a kick out of her fun personality. Anna is a nurturer and loves to feed him and pick him up and spin him around and tickle him to make him laugh. All 5 of our children are just really sweet children...we are so blessed!
