We had a great Thanksgiving this year. Some of us were sick (a lot of pink eye in our house right now and colds). As you know, it was also Emma's 3rd birthday. We woke up at the normal time, around 7am and I got to cooking. I made a brined turkey breast this year and it turned out so good! I also made sweet potato casserole, a green bean casserole, sour dough rolls (from frozen), sparkling cranberry cider and Chad made really good stuffing with sage sausage, chopped celery and carrots and dried cranberries. We had a sweet potato pie but ended up not eating it because Emma wanted pink cupcakes for her birthday celebration. It was a nice relaxing day at home giving thanks to our God for all of his goodness to us. We also made a tree of thankfulness where we attached leaves with the things we are thankful for written on them. It was neat to see the tree go from bare to full of leaves...we have a lot to be thankful for! We also went on a walk after our younger 3's nap-time. We live by a huge gorge and there are beautiful hiking trails there. After our walk we had fun celebrating Emma's birthday with pink cupcakes and presents. She really likes the book Pinkalicious so we read that to her several times too :)
We then had a family devotional reading from a special book we use around Thanksgiving. It was a great day :).
